Episode 6: Studio Ghibli

Guys. We have SO MANY amazing bloggers sewing a long with us this episode! We're so international.

This month is all about studio Ghibli! Studio Ghibli is the cornerstone of our movie collection at the Sew Chibi household.  For those of you wondering what the heck I'm talking about, Studio Ghibli is basically Japanese Disney, and the creator of most of the movies is a man by the name of Hayao Miyazaki.  A virtuoso of animation and storytelling, Miyazaki's movies are, in a word, e n c h a n t i n g.   Some of the most popular films are My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke but there are many many more. Our offerings this month include some delightful guests!  Check out a little of what they’ve done below and be sure to check out the full posts on all of our blogs, plus a couple of giveaways!

Kat of Sew Chibi whipped up a whole slew of wearables for her girls! Nausicaa, Howl's Moving Castle & Princess Mononoke! Check it out and enter the Brindille and Twig giveaway.

Episode 4: Classic Anime

The month's episode of Sew Geeky was themed Classic Anime and was first announced over on our facebook page. Starting all the way back to Astro Boy, we are celebrating the animes of yesteryear that make the genre what it is today (think Cowboy Bebop, Sailor Moon, Akira, Trigun, Dragonball Z, Inyuasha...)

We have a handful of giveaways this month too, so check them out on Kat and Ari's blogs, you gotta be in them to win them! You can win the following PDF Patterns: Hosh Pants and Doli Tank by LouBeeClothing and a Skater Dress by KitschyCoo! Huge love for our ladies who so graciously made these available to us this month!

Our special guest this month was Celina of Petit a Petit and Family who sewed up this super adorable AstroBoy swimsuit for her son! We can't get over how perfect he is as Astro!

Click through to see more photos, leave some comment love and find out more about the outfit! Celina is the brains behind so many cool things, including STYLO magazine (which both of us here at Sew Geeky were honoured enough to be a part of their maiden issue!)
